Patricia O'Gorman, PhD

    Patricia O'Gorman, Ph.D., a psychologist in private practice in East Chatham, NY, is noted for her work in child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health and substance abuse where she has serves as a consultant to organizations in preventative and clinical strategic planning. She has held positions ranging from Clinical Director of a child welfare agency to Director of Prevention for NIAAA, and is a co-founder of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. An internationally recognized speaker, and author of numerous articles including one in The Link (4-08) on how evidenced based programs are creating a new business model for organizations, she has also authored numerous books on such topics as self-parenting, and women and resilience. Her most recent book is The Lowdown on Families Who Get High: Successful Parenting for Families Affected by Addiction (CWLA, 2004).
