Meghan Marcum

Dr. Marcum has joined True North Recovery Services (Carlsbad, CA) and Orange County Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine (Newport Beach, CA), following her tenure as the Associate Clinical Director for an upscale, JCAHO-accredited treatment program for substance abuse, dual diagnosis and eating disorders. She is a cognitive-behavioral therapy specialist who has developed specialized, research-based programs and curriculums that enhance cognitive functioning and teach brain wellness to patients of all levels of functioning.

She carries a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University and has more than a decade of experience in the mental health and addictions fields. She has worked with her patients in both outpatient and residential settings. Her work has been so exemplary that she has been selected not once, but twice, by her professional peers to present at the American Psychological Association’s annual conference, where she displayed her expertise in the development of personality and in the navigation of managed care systems.

A versatile psychologist, Dr. Marcum also uses art and music therapy, along with mindfulness-based approaches. As a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist, she is able to teach her patients the skills necessary to stabilize and become successful in their lives, no matter how difficult their path to her has been.
