Dr. Kimberly Young

    Dr. Kimberly Young is a licensed psychologist and expert on Internet addiction. She serves as the clinical director of the Center for Internet Addiction Recovery, founded in 1995, and she is the author of the Web Addiction Series: Caught in the Net — the first book to address Internet addiction, and translated into six languages — Tangled in the Web, and her most recent, Breaking Free of the Web: Catholics and Internet addiction. She is an expert on Addicted.com and has developed the first certificate program in Internet addiction recovery for therapists in English and translated into Chinese. She has been an invited lecturer at the European Union of Health and Medicine in Norway and the First International Congress on Internet Addiction in Zurich, and serves on the editorial board of CyberPsychology & Behavior and the International Journal of Cyber Crime and Criminology. She has appeared in hundreds of media stories and has received the Psychology in the Media Award from the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the Alumni Ambassador Award for Outstanding Achievement from Indiana University at Pennsylvania.
