Ed Storti, B.A., C.A.D.C. II, B.R.I. II

    Ed Storti, lecturer, author and international Intervention Specialist developed and refined his special method of addictive disease intervention 33 years ago. He has performed over 3,000 family interventions throughout the United States and abroad. He has been on numerous television and radio talk shows. His first book, Crisis Intervention was published in 1988. His second book, Heart to Heart, was published by Carlton Press in 1995 and re-published in 2001. Ed is also a contributing author of the book, Addiction Recovery Tools, Robert Holman Coombs, Editor; published by Sage Publications. Two documentaries featured on television that highlighted his Motivational Intervention™ procedure were The Party’s Over, LifeTime Television and The Journey Back, PBS Television. His demonstration of the motivational process of intervention has been presented annually for medical students and faculty at UCLA Medical Center and for dental students at UCLA’s School of Dentistry. He has been included in Town & Country, Woman’s World, L.A. Steps, People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and various other magazine and newspaper articles. Ed earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1974, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology in 1976. He attended the Graduate School of Education, Rehabilitation Program at the University of Southern California. He is an Internationally Certified Alcoholism and Drug Counselor and Intervention Specialist. He is a member of the following professional organizations: the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and the Association of Intervention Specialists. Ed is one of the Board of Directors of the House of Hope Foundation. Ed’s philosophy is to present the gift of treatment to the addicted within a positive atmosphere of dignity, trust and compassion.
