In the field of addictions, it is important to recognize quality treatment centers that incorporate a solid therapeutic philosophy with an experienced and caring staff who are capable of successfully implementing that philosophy. Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar treatment programs, in picturesque Astoria, Oregon, are such places.

Both Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar’s treatment philosophy is based on the Addictive Disease Model, “which asserts that addiction is a chronic, progressive, and potentially fatal disease, which affects the mind, body, and spirit.” As such, Astoria Pointe’s treatment programs are holistically based, integrating 12-step principles, evidence-based treatment models, and current research on addiction.

The length of treatment is typically 30 to 90 days, and clients must be “suitable for treatment and rehabilitation in a non-hospital environment”. During their stay, clients engage in group and individual therapy, as well as educational groups and activities, such as: Relapse Prevention; Process Group; Body Image/Self Esteem; I Am Empowerment; Guided Meditation; Cross Compulsions; Life Skills; and About a Man. Astoria Pointe and The Rosebriar’s goal is “to establish for each addict a recovery program predicated on abstinence and to make it absolutely clear to the addict that abstinence demands a commitment on his/her part. Honesty and inner discipline are key to success”.

Set in a beautifully quaint and historic part of the Northwest, Astoria Pointe offers clients the healing power of nature, including lush forests and river walks. Clients may also engage in activities at a nearby aquatic center, gym, yoga studio, and day spa. Arrangements may be made for those who wish to attend church during their stay, as well.
