- Offering Prime Encino Office Space
- Resource of the Month
Welcome to another Spring issue of Westside Notes. An old classic reminds us that “Spring can really hang you up the most,” but it can also be a momentous time of renewal and limitless possibilities. Our days become longer — summer is just around the corner, and I welcome you to join me in noticing the simple gifts of nature’s transition.
Welcoming New Associate
I’m very pleased to announce that Tal Parsons, M.A. has joined my psychotherapy practice and is now available for evening and Saturday appointments. For more information click here.
Please keep in mind that my other talented associate, Blair C. Smith, M.A. continues to work as part of the practice and is also accepting new clients. Both Blair and Tal work on a sliding scale to accommodate clients looking for quality therapy at a lower fee.
Announcing New Men’s Group
I’m now meeting with prospective candidates for a brand-new men’s therapy group specifically designed for men in recovery. It will be meeting on Mondays from 5:30 to 7pm in my West L.A. office and the cost will be $65/session. There are very few groups of this kind in L.A. so please share this information with anyone you think may benefit.
I’ve been asked a few times about the differences between therapy groups and 12-step meetings so I put together a chart to outline the differences. Click here to view chart.
Offering Prime Encino Office Space
Many of you know that one of the catalysts for my move to the West Coast was to be closer to my aunt and the family she raised here. Not only am I colleagues with my aunt whose a psychologist, but we’re now collaborating to manage the suite in Encino where she’s been practicing since the 80s. Here are the details:
- Newly-remodeled suite in therapist-friendly building.
- Full & part-time space for sublet in both windowed and interior offices.
- Freeway-close to the 101 and 405.
- Floor-to-ceiling windows facing Encino Hills, very good soundproofing, call light system, separate exit.
If you know anyone whose looking for a terrific space in the Valley, please have them contact me.
Resource of the Month:
Inspiring Video of Grief & Hope
Last month I previewed a new documentary at Our House, A Grief Support Center in West L.A. It’s called YOUNG WIDOW, Naked in the Memorial Playground by Elizabeth Titus ($12.99 on Amazon), and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who would relate to this somewhat-hidden experience. I found the film touching, inspiring and poignant and have already shared it with a few colleagues and friends who have experienced such losses in their lives. Elizabeth Titus took on this project as part of her own healing process and has put together a piece that will touch many lives.
I wish you all the best and look forward to crossing paths again sometime soon. If you prefer not to receive future mailings, simply unsubscribe below and I look forward to connecting in other ways.
Warmly,
Andrew
