		<description>A number of ideas that you have mentioned especially the focus on the client&#039;s potential and resources are also expressed in Motivational Interviewing and the  Solution Focused approach  with addicts. I find both approaches to be respectful and empowering and move away from the use of &quot;resistance&quot; as a concept with which to write off the client. Instead I find the emphasis is placed on the therapist to be more creative in engaging helping the client take those first steps forward.
